Roy’s Folk’s Craft Show

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

This Friday November 16th we will be in the Fox 8 WGHP “Roy’s Folks Craft Fair” at Providence Place in High Point. This is a televised event, so you may catch a glimpse of us on the morning or noon news. We will be bringing our copper ornaments, copper star tree toppers, and other copper wall decor. We will also have our giant box turtle “Henry” with us and maybe a large flower or two. The show runs Friday only and is from 6am to 6pm. We have to be up so early! But it has been a good show for us in the past. Also, all the proceeds from ticket sales go to Fox 8 Gifts for Kids.

Check it out if you can, it’s an awsome place to get unique and handmade Christmas presents from local artists. I think there will be a guitar maker, glass blower, several painters, photographers, potters, baked goods, and more! Last year we bought a hand made broom- doesn’t sound exciting but I love it. Who knew the real thing (ie straw) worked so much better? Ok so I’m easy to please. Anyway, everyone there has been featured on Roy’s Folks- so come out and shop local!

Thanks for reading!

New shop

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Well it’s been a long time coming, but we are officially up and running. We had an open house last week and did demos of the new equipment, which went prettty well. We are quoting a new hospital sculpture garden in Oklahoma, so hopefully we will begin to take off with our public art installations!

After the fire, Casey was able to go to Wheelwright Mass. and take a class from a master metal shaper named Fay Butler. Casey came back after a week of intense training with a whole new style of metal manipulation. He learned the art of shrinking and stretching metal, using a power hammer, and how to form complex curves. So what is his first creation going to be? A giant bumble bee! We will make a few for the last phase of the UNC hospital job. We are also gearing up for the Annual Roy’s Folks craft show Nov. 16th in High Point. This is a televised event with all the craftsmen who have been featured on Fox 8 WGHP. It’s good exposure and we will have to make something big and exciting to unveil. We will also begin selling our copper Christmas ornaments and copper star tree toppers.

We are very happy to be back- and busy. Please see the pics of the new shop! I’m sure the yard will begin filling up with giant bugs and flowers soon. Come by and see us,
