Casey & Emily Lewis were honored to be recently recognized with the Burlington’s 2020 NC Main Street Champions award. The prestigious award focuses on “community, collaboration and local investment” in the community. It was presented to Beechwood for their contributions to the city.

And the contributions are many. First, they own Beechwood Metalworks. As you drive around Burlington, you will probably see our artwork as you go, including downtown, Alamance Children’s Museum, City Park, and private residences. Beechwood also does industrial fabrication. In addition to metalwork, the Lewises have purchased and launched three other downtown businesses – including Owl & Rabbit Gallery and Carolina Sundries. In 2019, the Lewises helped to plan and execute a downtown mural project which brought nationally known artist to the Burlington area. Casey has also joined and worked on the Downtown Burlington Corporation Board.

While the Main Street Champions award is a great honor, none of it would have been possible without the local Burlington community which offers continued support to Beechwood Metalworks, Owl & Rabbit Gallery, Carolina Sundries, and the many other projects inaugurated by *our* champions, Casey and Emily!
